Charles S. Schiffel, age 62, of 14330 Hyatt Road, Fredericktown, died Saturday April 6, 2002 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a short illness. Charles was born July 15, 1939 in Mansfield and was a graduate of Saint Peters High School in Mansfield. He served with the U S Navy from 1957 to 1961, was a graduate of the Mount Vernon Bible College and the North Central Technical College in Mansfield with a degree as an electrical technician. He had been employed at American National Can in Mount Vernon for 20 years and was currently employed at Worthington Cylinder in Westerville.
He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Mount Vernon the Mount Vernon Moose Lodge and the Legion of the Moose.
Surviving are his wife Linda Rozewicz-Schiffel whom he married July 21, 1984; his son Joseph (Brenda) Schiffel of Lancaster; his daughter Terese Frank of Mount Vernon; his father Stephen A. Schiffel of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and his brother David Schiffel of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his mother Sara “Sally” Schiffel.
Friends may call Wednesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Thursday at 2 PM with Rev. Merlyn Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mound View Cemetery.
