Charles R. Kilgore Sr., age 78, of Fredericktown, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his residence.  He was born in Lexington, Ohio on September 20, 1941 to the late Earl L. and Anna Marie (Armstrong) Kilgore.

After school Charles went to work driving a truck and spent the better part of his life working on the road.  He loved fishing, working on cars, traveling and visiting the shipyard in Bath, Maine.  He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, driving his diesel truck, most of all he loved being around his kids and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Charles R. Kilgore Jr, Earl G. Kilgore, David A. Rutherford, JoAnn M. Marsh, Patricia J. (Afolabi) Ajayi; grandchildren, Janell, D’Marcus, Megan, David, Brandy, D.J., Jessica, Allegra and Winter; brothers, Larry (Paula) Kilgore, Roger (Arlene) Kilgore, Brian (Bonnie) Kilgore; a sister, Betty Moore; the Davis family; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by spouses, Nancy and Frances Kilgore; brother Gary Kilgore and sister, Agnes Miner.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 11 – 1 pm with the funeral service starting at 1:00 pm at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home: 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 with Pastor Dallas Waggle officiating.  Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; Knox County Animal Shelter: 285 Columbus Rd, Mt Vernon, OH 43050.
