CRESTLINE – Charles E. Myers, 79, of Crestline, died Monday February 28, 2011 in his home following an extended illness.
Born in Galion on October 21, 1931 Chuck was the son of Arthur and Hazel (Swank) Myers and graduated from Bellville high school in 1949. As a young man Chuck served in the Marine Corp.
For 40 years he worked as a tool and die maker and retired from Fords Sandusky plant.
Chuck lived and breathed Ohio State sports, especially Buckeye football. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Rose Helen Myers; his children and their spouses Michael Myers of Irvine, CA, Deborah (Steve) Hirtz of Crestline, Sharon Myers of Mt. Vernon, Kenneth Myers of Mansfield, Kathryn (Richard) Dorantes of Merced, CA, Chuck (Anne) Myers of Sandusky, Timothy (Beth) Myers of Rossford and Mark (Kaycee) Myers of Sandusky; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sisters Gladys Oyster of Bellville and Betty Shade of Mansfield; sisters-in-law Mary Louise Myers of Loveland, CO and Betty Hammond of Bellville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Camille Myers and brothers James and Robert Myers.
His family will receive friends Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 1p.m. to 2:30p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will begin at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Karin Wright will officiate. Military honors will be performed by Bellville American Legion Post #535, and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Tiro Township Rescue Squad may be made at the funeral home.
