Charles Henry “Jack” Schoonover, 66, of Delaware died unexpectedly Friday afternoon at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born June 3, 1940 in Hillsboro, Ohio to Franklin Pearl Schoonover and Mona (Bryan) Schoonover. He was a retired computer technologist from Lucent Technologies, Columbus who served as an air traffic controller in the United States Air Force in the early 1960’s. He was a 1958 graduate of Grove City High School during which time he loved race cars and racing. He attended Capital University, was a friend of Liberty Presbyterian Church, and loved to read, swim, remodel homes, and spend time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid stock market enthusiast. Survived by his wife of almost 41 years, Nora Jeanette (Wells); 2 daughters, Jill Schoonover of Powell and Jennifer (Patrick) Hull of Granville; 2 grandchildren, Nora Delaney Rose Blank and Sophie Elizabeth Hull; brother, Ray (Jean) Lumbert of central Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 15th at 12:00 (noon) at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Bennett Brown Chapel, 1510 W. William St., Delaware with Rev. David Redding officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of services. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard.
