Charles Frederick “Fred” Carsey

BELLVILLE: Charles Frederick Carsey, 77, of Bellville passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a sudden illness.
Fred was born October 5, 1935 in Lancaster, the son of Emmett Charles and Ethel Marguerite (Kiger) Carsey. He married Rose M. DeMoss on June 23, 1956 and together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage.
He worked as a driver for Shiloh Tool and Die for more than 33 years until his retirement. Fred was a member of William O. Naylor AMVETS Post 43, Irvin Hiskey Post #535 American Legion, and the River Horse.
He enjoyed country music, playing guitar and spending time with his friends. He had a natural propensity for large equipment and enjoyed operating almost any type of heavy machinery.
He is survived by a daughter Dawn Carsey of Bellville; a grandson Caleb Charles Lee Carsey; nine siblings and their spouses: Nancy & Ralph A. Sr. Fry of Bellville, James & Kathy Carsey of Mansfield, Joyce & Jim Hoffman of Butler, Evelyn Carsey of Mansfield, Jesse & Karen Carsey of Mansfield, Kathy & Don Meadows of Mansfield, Sandy Carsey of Mansfield, Patricia & Russ Burton of Lexington and Sharon & Dave McPeek of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and a close circle of friends.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his devoted wife Rose Carsey in 2010, siblings Richard E. Carsey and Alice Jean Murphy, an infant sister Carol, and the mother who raised him: Kathryn Carsey.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 24, 2013 from 11-1 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Celebrant Jerry Wilson will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
