Charles F. Antill, 76, of Crestview Drive, Mount Vernon passed away on Tuesday morning, September 2, 2008 at his home with family at his bedside. He was born on March 14, 1932 in Mount Vernon, a son of the late Forest and Gladys (Mathers) Antill.

Charles retired from the former American National Can in Mount Vernon with 40 years of service as a Laminating Operator. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Charles also was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 4027 in Mount Vernon and a former member of the Amvets, the Eagles, and the Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Ceetta (Steurer) Antill whom he married on October 25, 1974; a daughter, Janet (Mike) Lewis of Utica; step children, Rhonda (Ron) Doup of Mount Vernon, Danny H. Myers of Walhonding, Geary A. Myers of Mount Vernon, Sherri (Brian) Whited of Fredericktown, and Melissa (Tom) Tenney of Fredericktown; grandchildren, Rachel and Randy Van Winkle, William Hershner, Jamie, Ryan, and Alexa Doup, Jessica and Shannon Stewart, Cody and Lane Myers, Gary and Kim Burwell, Alicia and Darren Phillis, Katie Whited, and Caleb, Kylie and Erik Tenney; 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Foster, Forest, and Chester Antill; his sisters, Faye Brooks and Francis Peck; and a daughter-in-law, Leona (Horn) Myers.

The family will have a graveside service in the Amity Cemetery on September 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. The Knox County Joint Veterans Council will conduct military graveside services.
