Charles E. Daugherty, age 90, of West Gambier Street, passed away on Wednesday January 7, 2004 at Country Court Nursing Home. He was born on June 10, 1913 in Honaker, Virginia to the late Lilburn and Eunice Evelyn (Honaker) Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty retired in 1975 after 35 years of employment as a glass packer with Chattanooga Glass. Mr. Daugherty served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by three sons, Robert Daugherty of Quinlan, Texas, Steven (Jacki) Daugherty of Burkburnett, Texas, Jerry “Squirrel” Daugherty of Mount Vernon, three daughters, Mary Peters, Brenda Parker, Lisa (Dan) Dennis all of Mount Vernon, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Geraldine Daugherty (1997).

Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 12 PM with Rev. Walter Speece officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
