Charles E. “Charlie” Page, age 80, of Woodlake Trail, Mount Vernon, died Thursday July 22, 2004 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after suffering a stroke at his residence earlier in the day. Charles was born August 24, 1923 in Richland County to Cecil and Dora (Totman) Page and was a graduate of Butler High School. He served in the U S Army during World War Two as a medical Corpsman with the 185th Hospital in England. Charles was retired from the former Bair and Callendar Cleaners in Mount Vernon where he had been employed 41 years as plant manager and general manager.

He was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Jelloway.

Surviving are his Wife Betty J. (Ridenour) Page whom he married July 5, 1947; two grandsons Chris Page and Travis Page both of Mount Vernon; two brothers Lawrence (Judy) Page and Marvin (Eileen) Page both of Mount Vernon and his sister Grace Reasoner of Marion. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son C. Dave Page, two sisters Eloise Marti and Esther Walpole and two brothers Raymond Page and Kenneth Page.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Monday at 10 AM with Rev Deborah Dingus and Rev. Edward Winkler officiating. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
