Charles D. Roush

December 28, 1925 ‒ January 06, 2021

Ashley, Ohio

Charles D. Roush, age 95 of Ashley, OH, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at his home in Ashley. He was born December 28, 1925 in Marengo, OH to the late Harry and Blanche (McNickle) Roush.

Left to cherish Charles’ memory are his loving wife of 74 years, Rosabelle (Zent) Roush; sons: Dan Roush, Tim (April) Roush, and Stephen (Anna) Roush; daughters: Janice (Larry) Runkle, Joyce (Michael) Condit, and Michelle (Randy) Runyon; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several other relatives and friends.

Charles was a carpenter and builder by trade. He was Associate Pastor for 7 years at Full Gospel Fellowship Church Ashley Ohio, followed by 7 more years as Senior Pastor. He preached at many different churches as guest speaker and served well over 20 years teaching Sunday school. He was a member of the Westfield Community Church in Westfield Ohio, where he served as assistant Pastor. Charles lived for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a prayer warrior. He taught us how to pray. He and his wife enjoyed singing together in church. Charles enjoyed working with his hands; anything with a hammer and some nails. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, board games, Buckeye football, and attending grandchildren’s events, but most of all spending fun times with his family. Charles was the most strong, loving, devoted husband and father. A very giving man who would help anyone that he could. His great BIG smile would light up any room.  His contagious laughter would make all around him enjoy the moment. We will miss him so very much, but are so thankful for all the years that God has blessed our lives with our DAD and HUSBAND.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his son, Ken Roush; and brothers: Harold and Gene Roush.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware, OH. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Dwight Cimino. Face masks and social distancing are required for all attendees. Burial will take place at Ashley Union Cemetery.

Donations in Charles’ memory may be made to the Westfield Community Church.

  • Dear Rosie and family,

When I first met Chuck over 30 years ago, two qualities were instantly obvious: how much he truly loved and lived for Jesus, and how much he truly loved and lived for his family! I vividly remember how proud he was of Steve when he played football, and of Michelle when she was a member of the flag squad…he lived for those Friday night games!

Please know that each and every one of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Chuck was such a wonderful man and Christian example for us all to follow and learn from. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

    Much love, hugs and prayers,
    Jenny
