Charles Bartley, age 77, of North Main Street, Mount Gilead, died Friday, March 4, 2005 at his home.
He was born in Hellier, Kentucky on February 3, 1928, the son of the late William and Gustavia (Mullins) Bartley. He moved here from Pike County, Kentucky in 1964. Charles worked for H.P.M. Corporation in Mount Gilead until retiring in 1990, and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife Ollie (Fuller) Bartley, whom he married January 22, 1949; a son Charles W. Bartley of Marion, Ohio, and a daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Ronald Harper of Lake Mary, Florida; five grandchildren Shamon Harper of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Joshua and Tyson Harper of Lake Mary, Florida, Charles W. and Shelly Bartley of Marion, Ohio; and six great grandchildren Christian, Isaac, Abigail, Gavin, Quinton and Brendon.
A daughter Judy Bartley; four brothers Bill of Galion, OH, Perry of Elkhorn City, KY, Emory of Marion, Ohio and Sebert Bartley of Ashcamp, KY; and three sisters Josephine Turner of Ashcamp, KY, Nora Jones of Dearborn, MI, and Mildred Adams of St. Petersburg, Florida also preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. The Rev. Ron Davis will conduct funeral services there on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery.
