Charles B. “Charlie” Hale, age 66 of Galena, died unexpectedly Friday morning April 9, 2004 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

He was born in Columbus on May 4, 1937 to the late Wilbur C. and Cynthia A. (Ruble) Hale. A lifelong farmer, he retired Specialty Crew Leader for the Delaware County Engineer and had worked for Ohio Dairy Herd Improvement. Member and Past Master in 1971 of Sparrow Lodge No. 400 F&AM, Honorary member of Hiram Lodge No. 18 F&AM, Delaware Chapter No. 54 RAM, Sidney Moore Council No. 84 R&SM, Aladdin Shrine, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Marion Commandery No. 36, George R. Fitez Council No 229 Allied Masonic Degree and Columbia Chapter No. 33 OES. Past Director of the Delaware County Fair Board and 4-H advisor for over 25 years.

Survived by his loving wife of 44 years: Nancy and they were married November 8, 1959 in Columbus; Sons: Daniel H. of Utica, Chris of Dexter City, Joseph (Lori) of Sunbury. Grandchildren: Austin, Ethan, Christopher and Thomas, Former Daughter-in-law: Mary Hale of Sunbury.

Proceeded in death by Grandson: James Hale.

Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. with the Masonic service at 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where services will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. with Pastor Michael Wise officiating. Committal Service at 2:30 p.m. in the Keith Cemetery, Noble County.

Charlie shared the gift of life through organ donation.
