BELLVILLE:Charles A. “Chuck” Mabry, 53, of Bellville passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family following a two-year courageous battle with cancer.
Charles was born July 13, 1957 in Mansfield to Sidney and Beulah (Parish) Mabry and graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1975.
For the past three years Chuck worked for Marysville State Penitentiary as a Corrections Officer.
A sports enthusiast, Chuck was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan and also cheered for the Cleveland Browns and Cavs.
Known as a family man Chuck was both compassionate and generous but still had an ornery side. He loved nature and had a soft spot for animals.
Blessed with a great personality, Charles will be remembered as a great husband, father, and son.
Charles dearly loved his family; his wife Celeste Mabry of Bellville; children Caleb Mabry and Celeiss Mabry both of Bellville; mother Beulah (Parish) Mabry of Mansfield; sister & brother-in-law Kathy & Dan Seitz of Mansfield, father-in-law and mother-in-law Rodney “Top” and Martha Walker of Bellville; brother-in-law Brent Walker of Bellville; sisters-in-law and their spouses Colleen and Tom Stein of Eldersburg, Maryland, Carla and JC Flynn of Bellville, and Carman and Bill Ute of Bellville; nieces, nephews, extended family, a circle of close friends, and his k-9 companion Lilly.
Charles was preceded in death by his father Sidney Mabry on September 15, 2008.
The Mabry family will receive friends, today, Friday, September 10, 2010 from 4-7pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:30pm. Chuck’s cousin, Pastor Jerry Nickles will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to OSU James Cancer Center, Hospice of North Central Ohio, or to the Charles Mabry Memorial Fund may be made at the funeral home.
