Charles A. Miller

On December 17, 2010, Charles Augustus Lindbergh Miller, known affectionately as “Lucky” or “Lindy” joined his beloved wife Laura B. (Kennedy) Miller and infant son Charles in Heaven. Together with Laura, Lucky was welcomed home by his parents, George W. and Susie (Williamson) Miller, brothers; Orville, Frankie, Richard, Cliff and George, sisters; Alice Potochina, Lola DeVito, Evy Stires-Williams and Helen Bullock. He will be greatly missed by children; Robert Miller, Karen (Greg) Runyan and Robin (Jerry) Scott, brothers; Donald, Harold, Frank, Russell, Edwin, Gerald and a sister; Gloria (Walter) Groves. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and lifelong friend; Renee (Irene) Goodson. Charlie was born April 23, 1929 and attended Mifflin High School prior to joining the Merchant Marines and U.S. Army Air Corps. Lucky worked for OSU materials laboratory, General Mills and successfully ran Miller Welding & Maintenance in Silver City, NM and Lawrenceville, GA. He was proud of his welding skills, stating he could weld “anything but the break of day and a broken heart.” A proud Mason and Shriner, he was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge in Rushville, Ohio.
