Cecil T. Jewell

Cecil T. Jewell, 73, of Galion, died Thursday, Apr. 29, 2010 at Village Care Center in Galion.
Born June 27, 1936 in Mell, Ky., he was the son of the late George W. Jewell and Evelyn Rock Jewell. He married Dorothy Adkins Jewell on June 4, 1971 and she survives.
He was a graduate of Center High School in Center, Ky. He was a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Galion and was a U. S. Army veteran, member of the Galion Lodge 414 Free and Accepted Masons, where he was a Past Master, also Galion Chapter 142 Royal Arch Masons, 32nd Degree member of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Galion Shrine Club, Aladdin Temple Shrine Valley of Columbus and Chapter 3, Bucyrus Order of the Eastern Star, where he was a past patron. He has served as a cub scout leader in Iberia and was a good husband, father and grandfather who loved camping and fishing with his grandson. He worked as a sausage maker at Weidles Meats in Mansfield for 13 years retiring in 1999.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Terry Frank of Lake Cumberland, Ky. and Thomas and Karen Jewel of Mo.; one stepson and step-daughter-in-law, Clayton and Tina Parsons of Galion; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, two half brothers and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Monty Trammel officiating.
A Masonic service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home.
Full Military graveside services will be held by the United States Army and the Galion/Crestline area veteran’s organizations.
