Catherine E. “Cathy” (Smith) Wiseman, age 77, of Johnsville, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, September 15, 2020, in her sons home surrounded by family.

Cathy was born on January 1, 1943, in Marion, to the late Lloyd and Helen (Hurst) Smith. In 1961, Cathy graduated from Caledonia High School.

On May 9th, 1969, Cathy married her life partner, Larry Wiseman. The two were united at Bryn Zion Baptist and shared almost 50 years of wedded bliss.

For 13 years, Cathy worked as a telephone operator in Mount Gilead. She later went on to serve 12 years as a registration clerk for Morrow County Hospital.

A woman of faith, Cathy was a longstanding member of Johnsville Grace United Methodist Church where she enjoyed bible studies and singing in the choir.

Cathy loved watching the Hallmark Channel. She also enjoyed reading, adult coloring books, and completing word searches.

While at times stubborn, Cathy will be missed for her generosity and loving ways. Her wishes are for you to rejoice in her Homecoming and reunion with her husband, Larry.

Left to cherish her memory includes her children: Beth (Joe) Simms, of Johnsville, William (Carmala) Wiseman of Johnsville, and Kevin (Patti) Wiseman of Galion; grandchildren: Ethan, Ricky, and Nathan; and great grandchildren: Layla, Nathan, RJ, Natalie, Trevor, and Atheilya.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Larry and parents: Lloyd and Helen.

Her family will greet friends from 4 to 7 PM on Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel. (67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead, OH 43338) A service to celebrate her life will be held there on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at 11 AM, with Pastor Karen Wagenhals officiating. Burial will follow at Shauck Cemetery.
