Carrie Phelps, 85, of Delaware died Sunday morning at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus. She was born December 4, 1921 in Wayne County, West Virginia to Eugene Adkins and Ella (Bradshaw) Adkins. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, gospel music, Christian programming, needlepoint and cross stitching, cooking, and reading her bible. She is survived by 4 sons, Wayne (Karen) of Delaware, Kevin (Lola) of Marengo, Jeff (Helen) of Ostrander, and Keith (Cheryl) of Delaware; 9 daughters, Linda (Don) Patrick of Delaware, Faith Ann (Randall) Richardson of Delaware, Beverly Beam of Delaware, Elaine (Brad) Wilson of Lebanon, Wyvonna (Kenny) Calhoun of Ostrander, Wyvetta Davenport of Delaware, Rebecca (Mark) Rucker of Cardington, Milisa Phelps of Delaware, Ella (Tony) Loudermilk of Delaware; 29 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, John (Audrey) and Donald (Delores) Adkins of Huntington, West Virginia; sister, Faye Ross of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, son Gregory, infant daughter Barbara Jean, grandson Gregory Scott Tapp, and 3 brothers Charlie, Eugene, and Ray Adkins. The family will receive friends on Thursday November 8th from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware and where funeral services will be held on Friday November 9th at 11:00 am with Rev. Wayne Keith officiating. Burial will follow in Marlboro Cemetery. The family will then host a reception in the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home Community Room immediately following the graveside services.
