MANSFIELD- Carolyn D. Hedrick, 60, of Oak Street passed away in her home on Sunday evening May 31, 2009.
Carolyn was born on January 18, 1949 in Ashland to Carl and Barbara (Callahan) Lookabaugh.
Carolyn always seemed to busy doing something. She loved reading…absolutely anything that had pages. Often working on crossword puzzles or word searches, she often had her eyes focused on locating the next word or solving the final clue to her puzzles.
Carolyn also enjoyed playing bingo, but her true competitive nature was revealed when playing cards. At any cost, Carolyn just had to win. Carolyn was also a huge Elvis Presley fan.
To some she was known as gram-gram, sis, or just mom; to her family she was everything. Carolyn will be remembered for her caring nature and love of family.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Scott Durfee of Mansfield, Eric (Tina) Durfee of Johnsville, Trena (Gary) Jacobs, Beverly (Ronald) Sherban, and Carolyn (Mike) Geib, Lisa (Al) Davidson all of Mansfield and Wayne “Jr.” Hedrick of Texas; her father Carl Lookabaugh of Mansfield; grandchildren Krystina, Samantha, Baby Scott, Chelsy, Jason, Sheyann, Reasheal, Brittany, Lil Eric, Amber, Dee, Taylor, Rachelle, Justin, Lil Eddie, Hope, Brandon, Alexis, Chase, Wayne, April, Jesse,and Ashley; great grandsons Zayden and Braxton; brothers and sisters and their spouses sister Vickie Armstrong of Mansfield, brothers Richard (Sharon) Lookabaugh of Mansfield, Sonny Linville and James (Barbara Linville both of North Carolina, sisters Kathy (Darrell) Moore of North Carolina, Karla Armand of Mansfield and Wendie (Frank) Richie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Wayne E. Hedrick, Sr., mother and step-father Barbara and John Linville, brother Jerry Linville, stepdaughter Sherry Hedrick, and mother-in-law Gladys Hedrick.
The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 6-8pm and on Thursday, June 4 from 12-2pm in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home (formerly Finefrock Funeral Home). Burial will follow Thursday’s visitation and will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
