Carolyn “Cam” Kempton

Carolyn “Cam” Kempton, age 63, of Fredericktown passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at her home.  Cam was born October 14, 1952 in Orange, New Jersey to the late William Wright and Jean (Burger) Rodgers.

Cam graduated in 1970 from Westlake High School and then in 1974 graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelors’ degree in Sociology.   She had worked for the American Red Cross in Cleveland, the accounting firm of Campbell and Rose in Mansfield, First Knox National Bank in Fredericktown and she was as substitute teacher for the schools in Knox and Richland Counties.  Cam was a dog lover and an active member of the local dog rescue; she was an avid reader and was dedicated to reaching out to the challenged student.

Cam is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, William; her sons, Randy Kempton and Adam (Jennifer) Kempton; and her sister, Susan Rodgers (Rob) Fleming.

The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 East College St, Fredericktown.  A private memorial service will be held at a later time with Pastor Ken Kinley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local dog rescue in Carolyn’s memory.

I will remember the many times we spent at wrestling matches and also all the times Ron and I talked to her while shopping for concession stand items at Sam’s. It was a pleasure to know her.
