Carolyn A. Williams, age 85, of Sunbury, (formerly of Columbus), passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 21, 2020 after a courageous battle against cancer.

Carolyn was born on January 16, 1935 to the late Mary A. Treadway-Davis (nee Fisher) and David Treadway. Her father died as a result of injuries received on D-Day and Carolyn was raised by her mother and stepfather, John W. Davis.

On Valentine’s Day 1956, Carolyn married Donald E. Williams and they had two children, Barbara and Rick. They also raised their granddaughter, Christina. The family enjoyed travelling, camping, square dancing and spending time with their family.

Carolyn managed the kitchen at the University Club in downtown Columbus until it closed. She went on to Columbus State where she earned a certificate in secretarial studies and held several administrative jobs until she ended her work life with a job driving a bus for the COTA Mainstream service, through Dave Transportation, well into her 70’s.

Carolyn is survived by her loving family including her children, Rick (Dru), Barbara, and Christina who lovingly cared for her Mom during the last years and through her cancer battle. She is also survived by her grandsons, Russell (Jenni) Orris and Johnny (Brenna) Orris; granddaughter, Sarah Williams; and five great-grandchildren – Brooke, Russell, Jace, Kaitlynn and Miles.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Carolyn at a later date, to be announced.
