MANSFIELD: Carollee Walls, 70, of Pearl Avenue, Mansfield, died Thursday, February 16, 2006 in her home, following a sudden illness.
A lifelong area resident, she was born April 12, 1935 in Mansfield to Hobart and Elizabeth (Weigler) Ridenour and was graduated from Ontario High School with the class of 1953. On November 11, 1959 she was married to Robert R. Walls, who preceded her in death on July 24, 2002.
She was employed as a stenographer in the graphics department, and a part-time receptionist with Westinghouse Electric Company for 14 years.
She was a former member of St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, as well as Ontario United Methodist Church.
Carollee was a member of the Kingwood Rose Society – her rose garden including over 1000 roses – and a former member of the Iris and Lily Societies. Also an avid apiarist, with 50 bee colonies, she was also a former member of Richland County Beekeepers Society.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph G. and Isabelle Ridenour of Ontario; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Thelma E. and Carl Duffner of Ontario, and Patricia L. Rasnake of Mt. Vernon; three step children, Cynthia S. Walls of Gahanna, Barbara K. Long and her husband John, and Jeffrey B. Walls, all of Mansfield; and four step grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, her brothers Ronald D. Ridenour, Richard W. Ridenour and Hobart H. Ridenour, and a sister Arlene V. Wright preceded her in death.
A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 12 Noon in Mansfield Cemetery. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements
