Carole Lou Powers Mansperger, 73, of Galion died Wednesday, Apr. 23, 2008 at Galion Community Hospital.

Born Sept. 13, 1934 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Clarence H. Powers and Ottilia Deubig Powers. She is survived by her husband, Harmon A. “Sonny” Mansperger, whom she married Feb. 11, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They were high school sweethearts since their first date, May 13, 1949.

A graduate of Galion High School in 1952, Carole attended The Ohio State University for three years.

Carole was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she served as a rest home and hospital communion server and worked with the Sacristans. She was also a member of the Friends of the Galion Public Library, Galion Community Hospital Twig 5 and was a lady knight of the Pope Paul XXXIII, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly in Crawford County.

She worked at North Electric Company, United Church Directories and Schillings Graphics in Galion where she retired after over 30 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael L. and Tina M. Trapp Mansperger of Marietta, Ga. and Thomas L. Mansperger of Ashland; five grandchildren, Nathan, Jason, Grace, Marissa and Mariah and one sister, Mary Alice Davis of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Lynn, a son, Timothy Lynn and two sisters, Catherine A. Tuscan and Jeanne E. Plummer.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Apr. 25, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 26, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Haas officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

A Vigil Service will be held at 9 p.m. Friday during calling hours with Deacon Greg Kirk officiating.
