DALLAS, TX: Former Mansfield resident Carol Oswalt peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at her residence in Juliette Fowler Community in Dallas, Texas. She was 95.

She was born June 1, 1920 to parents Charles L. & Vera (Clingan) Scott in Mansfield, Ohio. On June 16, 1938, she married Nyle B. Oswalt and they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 1992.

Carol dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her husband and four sons. Much of their life, Mr. & Mrs. Oswalt lived in Helena, Arkansas where they were members of the Helena Methodist Church. Carol enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. But above all, Carol cherished family.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Collin Oswalt, Ken Oswalt, Dean & Sharon Oswalt, and Lora Oswalt; four grandchildren: Kristin (Kyle) Jarrell, Alyssa (Jason) Luksa, Cameron Oswalt (fiancée Georgia Briggs), and Roxanne Oswalt (fiancé Richard Walker); four great-grandchildren: Addy, Rebecca, Landon, and Kenley.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Mervin Scott, and a son David Oswalt who passed away March 30, 2016.

There will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM in Franklin Cemetery (Mansfield, Ohio) on Monday, April 11th with Pastor Derek Hickman officiating.
