Carol L. Lichtenberger

May 22, 1935 ‒ June 21, 2018

Prospect, Ohio

Carol L. Lichtenberger, age 83 of Prospect, passed away Thursday June 21, 2018 at the Kingston Residence of Marion.

Carol was born on May 22, 1935 in Marion, the daughter of Otis and Dorothy (Altenberger) Hindman.

Carol was united in marriage to Paul W. Lichtenberger on February 19, 1956 in Marion at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parsonage. They shared 50 years of marriage until Paul preceded her in death on January 22, 2006.

Carol and Paul enjoyed many fishing adventures together in Canada. They also enjoyed spending time with friends playing many hands of Euchre. Carol was a person of deep faith and cherished time with her Bible study group. A trip to Amish country was common place and everyone who went along knew it would be a full day of shopping. Above all else, family was most dear to Carol. Especially those times that the family gathered around the dining table for a home cooked dinner.

Carol is survived by her daughter Judy (Levi Slabaugh) Cook; grandchildren: Chip (Mikki Paxton) Myers and Tara (Brent) Bonifas; great grandchildren: Matthew (Victoria), Jacob, and their mother Sarah Myers; siblings: Carl (the late Dorothy) Hindman, Floyd (Karen) Hindman and Jim (Vanessa) Hindman; best friends: Sharon Beeney, Sheila Cornelius and Betty Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul W. Lichtenberger; brothers: Sam (Rusty), Richard (Veda) and Larry (Virginia) Hindman; sisters: Beulah (Bud) Bond, Margie (Paul) Reiff and Martha (Claude) Curren.

Visitation will be Tuesday June 26, 2018 at Snyder Funeral Homes, DENZER Chapel, 360 East Center St. Marion from 5PM to 7PM; Funeral service will be Wednesday at the funeral home at 11:30AM with Rev. Brett Cornelius officiating; burial will be in Waldo Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Kingston Residence for making Carol’s last days happy and comfortable.

If so desired, donations may be made to Ohio Health Hospice.
