Carol Ann Speakman
September 30, 1946 ‒ March 18, 2021
Carol Ann Speakman, age 74, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away at home on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
Born in Columbus to the late Robert Gaines and Margaret “Betty” Edulblute (Hickey). She was a graduate of Hayes High School.
She worked for Western Electric and turned into an amazing business woman. Most of her adult life she owned her own housekeeping business and loved to buy things and resell them. Even when she could no longer keep up that pace she excelled at her last job before retirement working for a charity and we have the trophies to prove it!
Carol loved playing cards and even to the end could beat any of us at any game we played. She was an animal lover, she never met an animal she didn’t love, but especially horses. She loved horses almost as much as she loved her family. Her daughters, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were her pride and joy. She was a giver and until the very end would have given the shirt off her back if it made someone’s life easier. She was full of love.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Kristina Kaple (Larry Adkins) and Brooke Vatter (Gregory); nieces, Elizabeth Kestel (Walter Aldana), Jody Petru, and Angie Brooks (Jim); nephew, Andrew Speese; her most precious treasures, her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Gavin, Nicholas, Izzy, Abby and Emma.
She was preceded in death by her mother Betty Edeblute, her father Robert Gaines, her siblings Mary Kestel, Nancy Speese and Bobby Gaines, many other friends and family members. We are sure there was quite a party in heaven when she got there.
There will be no public services at this time.
The Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center of Delaware is assisting the family.
