February 21, 1962 ‒ April 18, 2010
Carlene Scott, age 48, of Cardington, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 18, 2010.
On February 21, 1962, Carlene was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Barbara Hollins of Cardington and the late John Marcin of Connecticut.
While living in Zion, Illinois, Carlene found the love of her life, James Jay Scott, who was stationed there while serving in the U. S. Navy. They were married on December 18, 1992, and have loved their seventeen years together.
Despite being injured in a factory accident many years ago, Carlene still gave all she could to her family as a wife, mother and grandmother. She truly loved spending time with her children and her beloved granddaughter, Destiny Lynn Smith, age 4. She was always there to help her family, no matter what the cost to herself, and they will forever be grateful for her unconditional love, care, and kindness.
A woman of faith, Carlene was a member of the Genoa Baptist Church and she cherished the messages of Pastor Frank Carl.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, James Jay Scott of Cardington; two daughters: Brianna (Nicholas) Smith and their daughter, Destiny of Marengo; and Allana Scott of Cardington; three brothers: Jack (Laura) Marcin and their children: Brandon, Dylan, Vivian, and Victoria; Tim (Heidi) Phelan and their children Dustin and Damian; and Patrick Phelan and his son Kyle.
Including her father John Marcin, Carlene was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Vernon Marcin.
Per Carlene’s wishes, services will not be observed.
Memorial contributions may be made to her family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Snyder Funeral Homes of Mount Gilead.
