Carl T. Davis, age 88 of Granville and formerly of Cleveland passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital while under the care of Hospice of Central Ohio following a two-month illness.

He was born on February 16, 1933 in Athens, Tennessee to the late James C. and Geneva M. (Shults) Davis. Carl was married to Joanne (Rasch) his high school sweetheart for 45 years until her sad passing in 1998.  He was a member of Local #683 IBEW for 67 years and retired from Mid-City Electric in 1992.

He was a member of the Moose and Eagles Clubs, as well as AMVETS and the American Legion. Always social, he was easy going in nature and believed in doing things the right way, with no short cuts. Carl enjoyed playing euchre, golfing, and bowling. With a passion for camping and traveling, he was considered a tooloholic. Frugal and easy going, he loved being with family, entertaining and family get-togethers.

Carl is survived by daughters Debra Comber of North Ridgeville, Cynthia (Joe) Haines of Galena, grandchildren: Kelly, Katrina, Joshua, Leah, great-grandchildren: Angelica, Jocelyn, James, Isabella, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children Joanne, second wife Lorena, infant daughter Wendy Jo, son-in-law James Comber, great-grandson Dylan, brother Jay, sisters Sue Wilson and Velsie Burianek.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brook Park Road, Cleveland, OH.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.

  • Carl was my great uncle very kind and will be very missed I loved visiting him when he used to live in Florida with my aunt Lorena. Truly was always fun going on the pontoon boat with him. I will hold tight to the great memories made. My wishes to all of his family and loved ones.

  • So sorry to learn of tool buddy Carl. He was a good one. He will be missed by many. Carl was one of the old breed that you could get the work done, on time and still have some fun along the way.
