Carl J. Krouse, 85, of Delaware, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Heartland of Marion Nursing Home.

Carl was born on February 17, 1932 in Columbus, son of the late Harry C. Krouse, Sr. and Stella B. (Lippincott) Krouse.

A proud US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, during his time in the service he received the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal.

Returning home from Korea, he would marry Marie (Welch) on October 8, 1955 and together they shared in life’s journey through thick and thin, making a home, and raising their family.

He lived most all of his life in Delaware, worked for Asplundh for 42 years as a tree trimmer and with Buehler’s from 1997 until 2005. A skilled model builder, he favored crafting large ships with sails. He was a fan of NASCAR and the Columbus Blue Jackets.  Carl also enjoyed war and action movies.

Simply put he was a good hardworking man, who loved his family and Country.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Marie, sons Donald (Carole) Krouse of Radnor, David Krouse of Orlando, FL, grandson David Krouse Jr. of Buckeye Lake, brother Ray Krouse of San Dimas, CA, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends,  co-workers and his beloved cat Missy.

In addition to his parents that have preceded him in death are brothers and sisters, Samuel, Mary, Audrey, Harry Jr., Maxine and Harold.

Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. at W. William St., Delaware, Ohio 43015, where the Veteran Services will follow at 7:00 p.m., provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ohio Heartland Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
