Carl E. Flesher, 85, of rural Galion, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at home.

Born Mar. 17, 1923 in Richwood, he was the son of the late Milton Flesher and Allena E. Bowles. He married Betty J. Cochran Flesher on June 30, 1946, who survives.

Carl was a graduate of LaRue High School 1941 and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and previously served on the Morrow County Board of Education for four years. In addition he has been on the Board of Trustees of Consolidated Electric Co-op, formerly Morrow Electric Co-op, for over 20 years.

Carl retired from General Motors after 32 years where he was a Millwright having worked from 1956 to 1988. He belonged to the U. A. W. Local 549. Prior to that, he worked for New York Central Railroad for 15 years.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan K. McKean of North Ridgeville and Connie and Dominic Vannucci of Bay Village and three granddaughters, Angela, Emily and Andrea Vannucci.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Flesher.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Lamb-Hart officiating.

Graveside services with military honors by the United States Army will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at LaRue Cemetery in LaRue
