Carl E. Ebie, age 96, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Emeritus at HillenVale. He was born on July 4, 1917 in Canton, Ohio to the late Edwin and Birdie (Grantham) Ebie. Carl retired as a general foreman in 1980 after 40 plus years of employment with Timken Roller Bearing in Canton, Ohio. Carl was a member and served as past Master of McKinley Lodge #431, Scottish Rite, York Rite Bodies and Aladdin Shrine.
He is survived by his son, Daniel (Anne) Ebie of Grapevine, Texas, a daughter, Carlyn (Bob Adelwerth) Drewyor of Hobe Sound, Florida, six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Ebie, a son, Michael Ebie, a granddaughter, a brother, Ralph Ebie and two sisters, Mary Frances Ebie and Ellen Kegg.
A Masonic service followed by a Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 begining at 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. A private graveside service will be held in North Lawn Cemetery in Canton, Ohio.
