Carl Campbell, age 83, of Fairview Road, Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday May 25, 2004 at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on September 1, 1920 in Knox County to the late Hugh Floyd and Mary (Davis) Campbell. He had worked as a dairy and crop farmer and was a carpenter by trade. Mr. Campbell served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Maxine (Beach) Campbell, son Kenneth Campbell of San Antonio, Texas, three daughters, Sue (Carl F. III) Kunzi of Mount Vernon, Sharon (David) Sullivan of Fon Dulac, Wisconsin, Linda Jean Campbell of Sarasota, Florida, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two brothers, Edward Campbell of Michigan, Henry Campbell of Mount Vernon and special friend James Bone of Texas.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Campbell, a sister, Ethel Campbell and a brother, Ernest Campbell.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be Friday at 11 AM. Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will be in Workman Cemetery.
