Carl C. Baer

Carl C. Baer, 68, formerly of Mount Gilead lost a courageous 17 month battle with cancer. He left this world to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 29th, 2005.

He was born on February 24, 1937 to the late Waldo and Martha Baer in Shelby, Ohio.

He graduated from Galion High School in 1955. He married Darlene (Higgins) on March 22, 1958, and lived in Mount Gilead before moving to Naples, Florida in 1983. He was employed at Galion Manufacturing/Dresser Industries Galion for 27 years. After moving to Florida, he was employed as assistant manager at Vanderbuilt Gulfside Condominiums for three years and became General Manager at Harborside West Condominiums for 18 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years; Darlene, his daughter Carlene (Darryl Parsons) Collins of Cumming, Georgia, two sons; Lannie (Dee) Baer of Butler, Tennessee and Danny (Jennifer) Baer of Mount Gilead, six grandchildren; Robert and Allen Baer of Orlando, Florida, Christopher Collins of Tampa, Florida, Michael Collins of Cumming, Georgia, Caitlin Baer and Taelor Rogers of Mount Gilead, four sisters; Priscilla Bowen of Verona, Virginia, Barbara (John) Dormer of Kerriville, Texas, Delores Gillespie of Galion, Linda (Steve) Maceyko of Cardington, one brother; Richard of Verona, Virginia, many nieces and nephews, and also many friends in Ohio and Florida. He will be missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Janice.

Friends may call on the family on Friday December 2, 2005 from 6-8 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 South Main Street Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338. Services will be held there on Saturday December 3, 2005 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Lisa McCleese and Rev. Andy Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery.
