Croton, Ohio

Caleb Benjamin Cooperrider, age 35, of Croton, the Founding Dude of Dude Charity, passed away August 7, 2020, while vacationing in Bangor, ME, the result of an auto accident.

Caleb attended The Ohio State University, was a big Buckeye and Cleveland Indians Fan.  He earned his Bachelors Degree from Franklin University.

Caleb is survived by his loving family – father, Larry Cooperrider; mother, Dee Miller; sisters, Carrie (Chad) Williams and Cassie (Justin) Kibler; identical twin brother, Zachary (Desiree) Cooperrider; nieces and nephews, Cooper, Owen, Ava, Ila and Makenzie; close family friends, Jaye Keaser and Veronika Karas; and numerous loving and supportive friends.

Caleb was a son, brother, friend, beacon of hope and inspiration to many, extended family to all, an all-around great human, but was the Dude. The Dude who loved everyone, touched every life and gave selflessly to anyone in need. His last dudely act is the donation of his life to help others in need. The world is a little dimmer right now, but Caleb will truly continue to shine.

A Funeral Service will take place beginning at 1 PM, Sunday, August 23, 2020 at the Hartford Fairgrounds – Neal & Mary Ann Ramsey Family 4-H Center.  A Celebration of Life Reception will take place immediately following.  All family and friends are welcome.

To Caleb’s parents- may God bless you with comfort and peace knowing what a wonderful human being you raised, his strength and love for others will go on in his last heroic gesture of giving others life.
We bumped into caleb at the airport in Las Vegas a couple years ago- and just like Caleb was- he ran over to us, hand out, “Mr and Mrs Kean, great to see you!” We had not seen him in years , since our boys played football. But he never hesitated to speak to us. Told us of some of his lastest adventures! A moment wayne and I will treasure!
God bless you all during this very tough time!
    RIP Fluff!

  • Larry, Dee and Family, No words can Express how sorry I was to hear about Caleb’s passing. He was a wonderful guy. My deepest condolences to you all.

  • The Dude. Caleb solidified my need to be a better person in this world and created the space for me to be a part of Dude Charity so I could do so. We bonded over being twins and twins of twins named Zachary. Caleb always called me in my darkest moments or would walk through the door when I needed a hug the most. He championed for my success as a business owner but championed even more for my own mental health. My twin girls, Griffin and Tallulah, always wanted to know when they would see that “silly guy that makes Daddy laugh so much.” I will wake everyday with the mission to be the good in this world like Caleb was for so many. Abide

  • Dear Dee and Family,
We’re so very saddened to hear of the loss of your incredible son and brother. Even though he was a young man, he’s leaving behind a legacy that will go on for years to come and he will never be forgotten.
Heaven has gained an “Angel Dude” that will still be watching over his loved ones.
With prayers and our deepest love and sympathy,
    Jo (Tucker) and Roy Glatt

  • I do not know that I will ever meet his equal, even if I were to live a thousand years. All my life I’ll be honored to say I knew him, did charitable works with him, and was lucky to live in his time.

  • Dude will be missed by Oh so many!!! Great hearted human being he was!!! We will live in his memory with joy and happiness because that’s the way he would of wanted it. He loved everyone and it shows. His acts of kindness will never be forgotten that says a lot about ones character. He had great taste in my opinion from sports to hip-hop to “his favorite” food joints!!! God gained a for real earth angel. My prayers go out to everyone that has had impacted Fluffs life and vise versa. We love you Caleb!!!!

  • Dear Larry and family

I’ll never forget the time Caleb and helpers were waiting at the edge of a water-logged farm. He figured I’d get stuck and need help. I’ll never know how long he’d been waiting. He wouldn’t tell me. But that was pure Caleb.

His big smiling face will be sorely missed.

Deepest sympathy to you and your family in this time of such an impossible loss.

  • Dee and family, you have our deepest sympathy. What an amazing person Caleb was from all the posts we have read and seen. I know many Killbuck people are praying for you and so is your Killbuck United Methodists congregation.
    Love and hugs,

  • Larry so sorry to hear the loss of your son Caleb. He was a special giving person. Bless him for sharing so others can live. You have my deepest sympathy

  • So sorry for the loss of Caleb. He was a very passionate young man. He played football with my son, Trey Smith, he was only 33 years old, who recently passed on July 26, 2020 from a terminal seizure. I know that both of our sons are in Heaven watching over us and not having to deal with this crazy world down here. They were both Christians and so relied of that. I pray for comfort and peace for your family and will always remember that smile of Fluff . If you need anything or need to talk. I totally understand with you and your family is going thru losing a son to soon.

God bless and praying daily for comfort of heartaches,
    Pauline Smith

  • My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Prayers of comfort for you.💕🙏🏼 , Sincerely, Peggy Bevington
