C. Marlene Foos, age 76 of Marengo, died Sunday afternoon February 2, 2014 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus,
She was born on October 5, 1937 in Delaware to the late Carl J. and Hilda G. (Wood) Brehm. She had worked at the Sunbury News as a press operator and also worked as a cook at the Farmstead Restaurant. She was a member and former secretary of the Morrow County Antique Tractor Association, former Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. Marlene enjoyed gardening, the Ohio State Buckeyes Football, collecting rocks, making memory gardens and feeding her birds.
Marlene treasured time spent with her family and enjoyed cookouts, birthdays and holidays with them. Marlene was vivacious, hardworking, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years: Delbert Foos and they were married December 28, 1980 in Marengo; daughters: Debbie (Gary) Fuller, Chris Kearns both of Marengo; Step-son: Roger (Anita) Foos of Cardington; Step-daughter: Karen (Harry) Keeran of Mount Gilead; grandchildren: Rodney Fuller, Kelly Kearns, Laura Fuller, Carrie Kearns, Katie Fuller, Heather (Jeremy) Clingerman, Tom Keeran, Beth Keeran; great grandchildren: Ally Criswell, Jacob and Gage Kearns, Keyon Clingerman; brothers: Robert (Thelma) Brehm of Elyria, William (Ida) Brehm of Green Valley Mo., Charles (Ilah Mae) Brehm of New Cambria, Mo., Patrick (Francine) Brehm of Catawissa, Pa.; sisters: Rita Gardner of Port Charlotte, Fl., Patricia (Homer) Freeman of Texas; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by son: Wayne “Magoo” McKay; granddaughter: Shelly Kearns; brother: Jack Brehm.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where services will be held Friday 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Delaware. A potluck gathering of family, friends and loved ones will follow the graveside burial at the American Legion Post, 230 Otis Street, Sunbury, Ohio 43074.
