Bud D. Ferguson, age 57, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born on October 24, 1960 in Mount Vernon, Ohio the son of Budd and Virginia (Campbell) Ferguson. Bud served in the United States Air Force.

Bud enlisted in the Air Force and was an Aviation Resource Manager. He always held a deep love and respect for the military and his country. This led to two of his sons following in his footsteps and enlisting in the Air Force.

Bud never met a person he did not like. With his infectious laugh, he could brighten anyone’s day. He always had time to lend people a listening ear. He loved Diet Coke, TV and movies, singing and playing the guitar, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

His life was a series of valleys and mountain tops, but at the end he came into the loving arms of God. He was passionate about his family and was most proud of being a father and a grandfather.

He is survived by his three sons; Zachary (Ashley) Ferguson of Biloxi, Mississippi, Lucas Ferguson of Fredericktown and Noah Ferguson of Eglin Air Force Base; a grandchild, Asher Ferguson; three brothers, Jim (Kathy) Ferguson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dave (Betty) Ferguson of Wilmington, North Carolina and Brad (Becky) Ferguson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Diane (Homer) Madison of Colfax, Wisconsin, Julie (Tom) Glenn of Centerburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Faith Ferguson.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a funeral service with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will begin at 6 p.m.

  • Buddy and I went to school together and with him around, there was never a dull moment! We laughed and had some of the best times together.
    His family is in my prayers.
