Bruce William MacCready, 60, of Cardington passed away early Saturday morning May 14, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 5, 1955 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late William Robert MacCready and Marilyn Jane (Dauphinee) MacCready. He graduated from Olentangy High School in 1974 and later from the University of Northwestern Ohio Business College in Lima with an auto diesel mechanic degree. He also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy.

Bruce was a mechanic for Jack Maxton Chevrolet and was owner/operator of his own satellite dealership through Direct TV. He was a member of the VFW #8736 in Sunbury and also drove school bus for the Cardington Lincoln school district. He loved hunting, fishing, cars and watching football. He was an avid NASCAR and sports fan and enjoyed cheering on the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 27 years Tamara “Tami” (Nies); son William MacCready of Cardington; daughter Stephanie MacCready of Delaware; two brothers Robert MacCready of Coudersport, Pennsylvania and Scott (Olga) MacCready of Cardington; sister Heather (Mike) Phillips of Harrod; five nieces Seana, Chrissy, Jenny, Lindsey and Emily; nephew Christian; great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday May 20, 2016 from 4 – 8 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Burial will take place at a later date.
