Bruce L. Freeman

Bruce L. Freeman, 71, of Galion passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Galion Hospital unexpectedly after a brief illness.
Born January 8, 1944 in Galion, he was the son of Henry “Ted” and Violet (Frye) Freeeman. He enjoyed 39 years of marriage with wife Jill (Ball) Freeman whom he married on June 3, 1976.
He attended Galion High School and worked at the former American Lumber Company in Iberia for almost 30 years later working as a greeter at Walmart. Bruce was a former member of Christ Church now known as Open Arms Christian Church in Galion. He loved animals and liked to watch the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes, enjoyed his Lionel trains, mushroom and arrowhead hunting and tractor pulls. Bruce loved Christmas and was known as Santa Claus to many, especially his grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters Jerilyn Hanlon of Galion and Tammy (Ralph) Mogan of Marion; grandchildren Ashley McMillen, Kiara Freeman and Brayden Mogan; great-grandchildren Mackinsey McMillen and one expected and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Henry Theodore Freeman, Laurence Joseph Freeman and Jon Wayne Freeman and two nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 and one hour prior to services which will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 27 at the Richardson Davis Chapel with Pastor Loyd Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at Olentangy Cemetery.
