Brooke J. Deakins, age 22, of Fredericktown-Amity Road, Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 24, 2015. She was born on March 23, 1993 in Mount Vernon, Ohio the daughter of Tracy and Trudy (Eberhardt) Deakins. Brooke was a 2011 graduate of the Knox County Career Center where she studied in the Health Tech Program and she was currently attending nursing school in Columbus. She was employed at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.

Brooke was an outdoors girl. She loved being in the woods spending time with her dad, hunting, fishing or mushroom hunting. In her free time if she wasn’t outside, she could be found with her girlfriends on Thursday’s at the Hangout in Danville or with her dad socializing with others at the Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents she is survived by her brother, Nolan Deakins, maternal grandmother, Marilyn (Conkle) Frazee, paternal grandparents, Larry and Sue (Styers) Deakins, aunts, Tiffany (Darrell) Cagnon and Kim (Ron) Johnson and special friend, Quinton Ferenbaugh.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, David Eberhardt and uncles, Travis Eberhardt and Mark Deakins.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. The family will observe a private graveside service in Amity Cemetery.
