Brittany Ann Motter, age 14, of Delaware, died peacefully Monday May 2, 2005 at her residence in her parent’s arms following a courageous battle against brain cancer.

She was born in Lancaster, Ohio on July 4, 1990 to William Jr. and Sherry (Huber) Motter. She was a very bright student taking honors courses as a freshman at Olentangy High School Class of 2008. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church and Delaware resident since 1994. Brittany enjoyed riding horses at The Horse Center, especially Chip, Cheerio, Darcy and Rocket. She also enjoyed playing piano, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter movies, and loved animals, especially her cat “Snuggles” and her dog “Blaze.” She was a wonderful sister to her siblings and had many good friends.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her Sister and Brother: Megan and Wesley Motter at home, Grandparents: Mary Motter and Carl and Helen Huber, both of Lancaster, Uncles: James (Maureen) Motter of Bexley, Dave (Molly) Huber of Lancaster, and Joe (Marie) Huber of Lebanon, Aunts: Melissa (Pat) Estep of Lancaster, Katy (Jeff) Zimmerman of Groveport, Carla Kemmerer of Lancaster, Barb (Ron) Walls of North Carolina, and Cindy (Art) Vela of Texas, Best Friends: Abbey Querns and Karen Watts, and numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Motter Sr. in 1971, her cousin Jamey Kemmerer in 2004, and pet dog “Sampson” in 2000.

Friends may call Thursday and Friday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware, where prayer services will be held Friday at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William St., Delaware, with Father David Sizemore and Father Kevin Kavanagh co-celebrants. Graveside committal services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Cemetery in Lancaster.
