BELLVILLE: Brent Russell Walker passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 in OhioHealth Mansfield following an unexpected illness. He was 60.

Brent was born October 28, 1956 in Mansfield to Rodney “Top” & Martha (Teeter) Walker and attended Clear Fork High School.

Brent worked at GI Industries and for the Village of Bellville, but worked the most years as a construction operator for Gudenkauf Corp and later Henkels & McCoy.

He was an avid outdoorsman that loved camping, fishing, and just being outside. Brent was a Civil War history buff and collected coins, knives, and eagles. He was generous, kind, and helpful to family and friends.

Brent was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post #535 and AMVETS Post #43 in Bellville.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Aubrey & Sedrick Porter of Maryland; parents Rodney “Top” & Martha Walker of Bellville; sisters and brothers-in-law Celeste Mabry, Colleen & Thomas Stein, Carla & J.C. Flynn, and Carman & Bill Ute; his daughter’s mother Cindy Schopp; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and a great-nephew.

Brent was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Charles Mabry, and grandparents Russell & Beatrice Walker, and Dory & Gustava Teeter.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home (81 Mill Rd) where a funeral service celebrating his life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Ken Kinley will officiate and burial will follow in Zion Four Corners Cemetery near Butler.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to benefit his family (please make checks payable to Snyder Funeral Homes) may be made at his services.
