Brent D. Smith, age 61, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on January 28, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Robert and Doris (Feidler) Smith.  Brent previously worked for RPM in Columbus, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife Kim (Steele) Smith whom he married on February 27, 2002; his children, Amber (Rickie) Geiger of Washington, Tyler Smith of Washington and Kali (Chris) Hill of Johnstown; step children, Andy (Kristi) Steele of Centerburg and Rachel (Garrett) McCutcheon of Howard, eight grandchildren; a brother, Steve (Sherry) Smith of Newark; three sisters, Candy (Floyd) Upperman of Amanda, Ohio, Pat (Bill) Wilson of Jonestown, Texas, Carol (Jim) O’Dell of Reynoldsburg and his canine companion Motley Crue.

Brent was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.  The family will observe a private service.

Memorial contributions in Brent’s name may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark, Ohio.
