Brandon Glenn Sherrick, age 25, of Mount Vernon, Ohio and formerly of Lucasville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 7, 2018. He was born on August 20, 1992 in Columbus, Ohio.

Brandon was a 2010 graduate of Valley High School in Lucasville, Ohio and currently worked for the City of Mount Vernon and Mound View Cemetery.  Brandon enjoyed fishing, working on motors and riding quads, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Bryson Sherrick; his mother, Laurie (Wolford) Sherrick of Mount Vernon; his father, Russell (Benita) Sherrick Jr. of Lucasville; siblings, Karen Sherrick of Hilliard, Nicholas (Brittany) Sherrick of Columbus and Alyssa Caldwell of Mount Vernon; three step sisters, Keirsten Smith, Kandace (Johnny) Webb and Micheala (Michael) Skaggs; paternal grandparents, Russell and Mae Sherrick Sr. of Lucasville; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brandon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Karen Wolford.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.

  • I am deeply saddened by the news of Brandon’s passing. I grew up with Brandon. He was more than a friend, he was a brother to me. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten! When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us. I know that the next and every time I go fishing he will be smiling down casting a line as well! Brandon will truly be missed! May my and my families prayers help comfort you and hasten the journey of his soul to heaven!

  • So sorry LAURIE and Nick for your loss. I remember Brendan as a very HAPPY child and always upbeat. I haven’t seen him in recent years but he will be remembered. You have my deepest sympathy. Love to you both.

  • Though I did not know Brandon personally, I heard great things about him. He brought joy and smiles to anyone who was around him. It was a surprise to all of us and all of a sudden but I know in his 25 years he was very happy and lived his life to the fullest. My condolences to Laurie, Nick and Alyssa personally.   • i knew brandon through the neightborhood and alex and kelly my daughter and son nlaw. we brandon alex and myself did a brief stint at kellogs warehouse in west jeff and i used to after work stop in to get a can of skoal when i worked at the dispatch.and brandon worked at speedway gas station.for a while i would see him around the area often always talked to see what he was up to. its vary hard when someone so young and like family passes away . the only comfort i can give is hes with the king of kings jesus mercyfull my prayers to nick and family
