Braden Ray Wert

LORAIN COUNTY: Braden Ray Wert, age 59, of Mansfield passed away Friday morning July 13, 2012 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
A lifelong area resident, Braden was born November 16, 1952 in Mansfield the son of Lester Neal and Edith M. (McGregor) Wert, and was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School.
On October 21, 1972 he married the love of his life, Susie Fugett. The couple celebrated 39 years together.
Braden worked at Robertson Pipe Service in Lorain as a supervisor. He also served as a firefighter for Madison beginning when the station was volunteer, and leaving after 20 years of service having served as captain.
Braden passed doing what he loved the most, riding his bike. He loved riding his Honda Goldwing, and was a member of several family bike clubs including Hells Cupcakes Bike Club and spent countless hours on The Biker Site.
He also enjoyed camping, was a HAM radio operator, and was a great gardener. He was partial to growing kolorabi, and the hottest peppers he could find. Ornery, he loved joking and playing around with people, sometimes putting his grandchildren up to helping him pull off his pranks.
Most of all, Braden was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a true family man, enjoying time spent with family.
He is survived by his wife Susie Wert of Mansfield, four children Tammie Wert-Taylor, Rebecca Wert and her fiancé Noah Cooley, Braden Neal and Jessica Wert, and Brian Wert and his fiancée Heidi Collins; eleven grandchildren Mia Wert, Vincent Taylor, Christopher Wert, Kabar Radcliffe, Braden Wert, Jr. “B.J.”, Averey Wert, Dakota Wert, Ethan Wert, Brian Wert, Jr., Dyamond Wert, and Braxton Collins; his faithful canine Grace the dachshund; a brother Flyod Hock, two sisters Donna and Sam Musille, and Lucille “Pudge” and Charles Byerly; his mother-in-law Ruth Fugett; sister-in-law Alma and Tony Thorpe; brother-in-law Kenneth Fugett; special friends John and Carol Ratliff, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two half brothers Lester Wert and Raymond “Pete” Wert.
Friends may call today, Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 5-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a service of remembrance will be held Monday at 11 am. Braden’s dear friend, Phil Ackerman will lead a time of sharing. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
