MANSFIELD: Bonnie Lou Utt, 68, of Frederick Court, Mansfield, died Tuesday evening March 23, 2004 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a short illness.

She was born July 1, 1935 in Butler to Frank and Ruth (Hoover) Ward, and was graduated from Butler High School in 1953.

Bonnie had worked as a professional beautician for the past 50 years. Her career in downtown Mansfield included working at The Band Box, a long tenure at Park Avenue Beauty Salon, and was currently working at Downtown Hair Designers.

A lifelong Mansfield resident, Bonnie was a member of the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California.

Bonnie enjoyed knitting, and had a passion for flower gardening, as well as filling her home with African violets, primroses and other blooming plants.

She is survived by her husband Donald L. Utt, whom she married September 2, 1978 in Burbank, California; a son Anthony W. Ward of Reno, Nevada; six step children and their spouses Carol and Steve Flockenzier, Donald D. Utt, Ronald L. Utt, Kenneth R. and Robin Y. Utt, Cheryl and Joe Gonzalez and Rebecca A. Carmel all of Mansfield; three grandchildren Gerard Ward of Reno, Nevada, Jason Ward and Emily Ward both of Oceanside, California; 20 step grandchildren; a special “granddaughter” Wendy Christy of Mansfield; a brother Edwin Ward of Mansfield; and a sister and brother-in-law Pat and Donald Ranshaw of Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Catherine; a stepdaughter Kimberly Jo Utt in December of 2003; a sister Wava Thompson and a brother Wendell Ward.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 25, 2004 from 5-8 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, and also on Friday from noon until 1 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 1 pm. The Rev. Mike Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.
