Bonnie J. Carpenter, 78 of Gahanna, died Friday afternoon at St Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
She was born on August 8, 1932 in Marysville to the late Homer and Ernestine Reed. A graduate of Dover High School Class of 1950. Former member of the Women’s Auxiliary VFW Post #4719. A 26 year employee of Amos Lanes in the Child Care area.
Bonnie enjoyed bowling, playing euchre, and cooking. Bonnie loved to cook and bake and her homemade pies and noodles were her specialty. A dedicated mother she would run from field to field to watch her sons play football, cheering them on in the stands. Grandchildren always enjoyed spending the night so they could get their favorite snacks made with loving care by grandma.
Survived by children: Eddie of Sunbury, Debbie Myers of Columbus, Steven (Kathy) of Mount Gilead, Rick (Barb) of Westerville, Chris (Rochelle) of Delaware, Mark (Lisa) of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years James E. Carpenter Sr. on December 30, 2008; brother: Glenn Reed.
Friends may call one hour prior to the 12 p.m. (Noon) service on Tuesday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury. Interment will follow in the Mifflin Township Cemetery, Gahanna.
