Bobby E. Lavender Sr.

Bobby E. Lavender Sr., age 78 of Ashley died early Thursday morning, November, 28, 2002 at Delaware Court following an extended illness.
Born on Nov. 15, 1924 in Ostrander to the late William J. and Mabel Hines Lavender. He was a US Army Veteran and lifelong resident of Delaware County. Bobby retired from General Telephone Company after working 27 years as a lineman. He enjoyed reading books, watching western movies and was a member of Fulton Creek Friends Church near Richwood.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years: Ida (Reed) Lavender, whom he married Sept. 6, 1956 in Ostrander, Children: Bobby Lavender Jr. of Ashley, Bruce & Shirlie Lavender of Ashley, Bill Lavender of Ashley, Brent Lavender of Columbus, Connie & Norman Neace of Delaware, Bryon & Starr Lavender of Mt. Vernon, 10 Grandchildren: Mandy, Jessica, Richard, Shelly, Scottie, Dominique, Patton, Cassie, Maggie, Sammie, 8 Great-grandchildren: Tyler, Adam, Alex, Avery, Aiden, Jodan, Ashley, Noah, Brothers: Paul Lavender of Delawre, Gale Lavender of Largo, FL, Lee Lavender of Leonardsburg, Wayne Lavender of Ostrander, Sisters: Marlene Fry of Delaware, Helen Fraker of Largo, FL, and Erma Fox of Buckeye Lake.
Preceded in death by Brother: Harold, Sisters: Wilma, Mildred, Fay, and Bea.
Friends may call Monday 5-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Radnor Cemetery where the members of the Delaware County Veterans Assoc. fold and present the American Flag.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Philip Andrew, Homer Reed, Dick Lavender, Charles, Gary, and Denny Cramer.
