Bob M. “Schoonie” Schoonover
January 31, 1950 ‒ July 12, 2009
Bob M. “Schoonie” Schoonover, age 59 of Sunbury died unexpectedly, Sunday, July 12, 2009 at St. Ann’s Hospital.
He was born on January 31, 1950 in Columbus to the late Harlan and Betty (Fleck) Schoonover. A lifelong area resident, he was a graduate of Centerburg High School in 1969. He worked 22 years as a press operator with Ranco and currently worked in the receiving dept. of American Showa.
A member of the Sunbury Eagles, he was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, especially for walleye, and was a “meat hunter”. A jokester at heart with a wonderful smile, he loved people with his outgoing personality. A cook he was not, but he considered himself a chef. Quite the storyteller, he was happiest spending time with his grandchildren, family, black Lab Samo, and numerous buddies.
