Billy Gene Ross Sr.

Billy Gene Ross Sr., 77, of Delaware passed away early Monday morning February 24, 2014 at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 1, 1936 in Gallia County to Homer and Josephine (Martin) Ross.
Billy served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1963 -1966. He worked for Smith and Johnson in Columbus for many years and has been a Delaware resident since 1965. He was a member of the International Labor Union of North America who enjoyed old cars, antiques, wood working, going to auctions and repairing musical instruments. He also enjoyed motorcycles, guns, restoring tractors, and hunting especially on his farm in Southern Ohio.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons Billy Jr. (Tracy), Jesse, and Tommy Ross all of Delaware and Ricky (Om) Stiverson of Alexandria, Virginia; daughter Tammy (Ryan) Parmer of Delaware; 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; brother Richard (Jeannie) Ross of Gallipolis; sisters Carolyn (Larry) Grimmette of Gallipolis and Sharon (William) Cummons of Hilliard; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dixie Henrickson and 2 brothers Robert and Larry Allen Ross.
The family will receive friends on Thursday February 27th from 5 – 8 pm at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William Street, Delaware and where funeral services will be held on Friday February 28th at 11:00 am with Rev. Donnie Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Berkshire Cemetery with the Delaware County Veterans Association providing military honors at graveside.
