Billy “Bill” Wayne Hedges, 71, of Delaware passed away early Tuesday morning April 1, 2014 at the Kobacker House in Columbus.

He was born July 15, 1942 in Delaware to Leslie Hedges and Alice (Shannon) Hedges.

Bill graduated from Elm Valley High School and later worked as a staff engineer for Honda of America, Marysville, Ohio plant retiring after more than 25 years of service. He attended Highpoint Nazarene Church when able, and was an avid Cleveland Browns and NASCAR fan. He also owned standardbred horses and raced them mostly at Scioto Downs.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of almost 52 years Glenda (Massie); daughters Lezlie (Gary) Deskins of Powell and Robin (Mark) Stacy of Wadsworth; grandsons Kyle Deskins and Nicholas and Alexander Stacy; 3 sisters Donna Moore and Helen Price of Delaware and Kay (David) Chaney of Cardington; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Mitchell Joseph Stacy and 4 brothers Elmer, Jack, Bud, and Leslie Hedges Jr.

The family will receive friends on Thursday April 3rd from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 4th at 11:00 am at the Highpoint Nazarene Church, 795 Pollock Road, Delaware with Rev. Mike Cheek and Bill’s nephew, Billy Wayne Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
