Billie Zimmerman, age 90 of Delaware died Saturday, February 18, 2012 morning at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 10, 1921 in Huntington West Virginia to the late David and Bertha (Joseph) Nesselrode. She was a member of the Delaware Moose Lodge #1167.
Billie loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed camping at Hidden Lakes in Mount Gilead. Watching The Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball and NASCAR were favorite pastimes for her. She was somewhat of a perfectionist and took great pride in caring for her yard, mowing it until she was 88. Billie enjoyed shopping and the trips to San Francisco and Minneapolis with her family.
She is survived by daughter Jackie (Rodney) McGonigle, son Mike (Marilyn) Zimmerman all of Delaware, 9 Grandchildren: Mike (Paula) Travis, Tracey (Becca) Travis, Matt (Nicole) McGonigle, Shawn (Becky), Shad(Andrea) Zimmerman, Stacey (Bob) Breckler, and David Zimmerman, Dina Putman, Bonnie McCartney, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, canine pal: Gidget, and many special friends.
She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband Lewis on August 31, 2009, they were married May 12, 1940 in Greenup, Ky, twin sons: Garry in 1969 and Jerry in 1996, brother: John Nesselrode
A celebration of her life will be held at a later announced date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Delaware.
