FORT WAYNE, IN: Billie Joe Weikle, 75, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and formerly of Bellville passed away Monday April 30, 2012 at home following an extended illness.

Billie Joe was born December 10, 1936 in Sarton, West Virginia the son of Henry and Annie (Wickline) Weikle. On August 26, 1965 he married Roxanna Weikle.

Working 26 years for Ideal Electric, Billie Joe retired in 1999.

Billie Joe enjoyed hunting small game. In warmer months he worked around his house on landscaping or in his gardens.

Billie Joe was a member of First Baptist Church where he previously served as usher.

He is survived by his loving wife Roxanna of 46 years of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline and John Sherrill of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren Derrick and Winter Sherrill of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother Ernest (Pat) Weikle of Bellville; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Sadie Dowdy, Zola and Bessie Kirby, Dollie, Hettie, Walton, Clancey, and Howard Weikle.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 4, 2012 from 4-7pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 11am in First Baptist Church, 4534 State Route 13, Bellville. Pastor Wayne Gullion and Pastor Bill Henderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
